Five issues we find in almost every home

No house is perfect, not even new construction. These are the items we report most often:

1. Missing or damaged caulking around windows, doors and tubs.
2. Poor grading that slopes water toward the foundation.
3. Electrical panel issues like double-tapped breakers or missing knockouts.
4. Aging water heaters close to the end of their service life.
5. Dirty HVAC filters and equipment overdue for service.

Most of these are inexpensive to fix. The report tells you which ones matter most.
